Treatment goals are set in collaboration with clients and sessions may include some of the following :
- General Psychological Education
- Anxiety/Stress Management Techniques and Relaxation Training
- Thinking and Imagery Awareness and Restructuring
- Graded Exposure to Feared Situations
- Appropriate and Manageable Goal Setting
- Problem Solving Skills
- Assertiveness Training and Effective Management of Emotions
- Behavioural Experiments
Sessions
On average, clients attend for six to ten sessions each of which lasts for a period of one hour. Sessions are generally on a fortnightly basis with a follow-up appointment at three months to ensure that progress is maintained.
